After a few years away from animation, Awesome Inc. approached me about a new project, “Birdgirl.” Having been a big fan of old school Adult Swim shows, I enthusiastically accepted the position as Background Lead. It was a pleasure to along side some amazing colleagues that really made the collaborative effort special. This project was incredibly fun to work on even as we had to quarantine mid production in March 2020.

As Lead Background Artist, I establish a collaborative culture within the background design and painting team. Many times, multiple artists will work any single background leveraging their individual strengths. I usually finish all the shots with final details, continuity checks, final lighting as well as making sure the art is flattened and functional for the animation team.
